[edit] General
- A friend sent me an invite to play Packrat back in Jan or Feb '08, but I didn't start playing until August. I was addicted in 2-3 days flat, and now I SO totally regret not starting sooner. I could've gotten the Pirate Ship and Whale as pop-ups!! Grarrr.
- 20 collections had retired by the time I started playing. (And I've collected all but the Whale and Leopard!)
[edit] Style of Play
- My style of play is pretty much a hybrid (of co-op, ffa, and hermit), and is continually evolving.
- I officially consider myself "friendly FFA" or "chameleon", as I have both FFA and co-op friends. But I rarely steal from my FFA friends, so I'm kinda hermit-ish with a semi-open pack (most of it's usually locked)
- On my own collections, I prefer to work as a hermit. It's most challenging that way!
- I do enjoy helping others when I can, but I don't like feeling obligated to do so. This is one of the reasons I'm not co-op.
- Althoooough I hate the co-op/ffa split. I love having both ffa and co-op friends!
[edit] Vault
- I love Perfect/Clean vaults
- For my first several collections, I thought you could vault 5 and ONLY 5 cards at a time, so collections with odd numbers of cards weren't vaulted cleanly. I was so excited when I discovered that you can vault more than 5 cards at once!
High Seas Century
was my first collection after that discovery. I vaulted all 15 cards in one shot! Screenshots here and here.
[edit] Favorites!
Being a rather indecisive person, I don't often have just one favorite of anything...
[edit] Cards
So perrrty
| Pack Pet!! | First RECIPE foil I've ever made |

|
| First (and only) Ticket foil I've ever bought | Second RECIPE foil I've ever made |

Not so perrrty
- Haha...I just couldn't think of an appropriate title for this section. These are favorites for reasons other than perrrtiness.
[edit] Collections
Magical Mystery Tour
,
Peace and Music
,
Symphony Orchestra
, and
Peaceful Afternoon
These are probably my favorite collections overall.
Papa Louie's
Papa Louie's will always hold a special place in my heart. When I first discovered the wiki and saw all that it would take to accomplish a FOW, I pretty much thought feats were impossible. It turned out that Zesty Tomato Sauce was pretty easy to make though, and it wasn't long before I had my first feat (and was totally hooked!)
Love the Artwork!!
Be Mine
Easter Bunnies
Supermassive Gravastar
Return to Tiki Island
Quest of Montezuma
Dreams
The Roswells
Enterprising Fungi
Tiki Island
Others
Rat Pack
appeared so overwhelming to me, as a newbie. Once I feated it, I felt like I could feat anything!
- I like the concepts (ie, the "storyline", if you will, the particular ingredients to various recipes, and just the general structure) behind the following collections:

Dreams and Nightmares
!!
Bulls and Bears
Ink Wars
(I think that when I started collecting IW, it was the first time I'd ever really noticed and paid close attention to the structure of a collection. And I marveled at the creativity behind it. These devs, man...they rock.)
Green Scene
Magical Mystery Tour
The Roswells
(Love the card names!)
Nacho Ducks
[edit] Other Favorites
- Packrat Tools MOCKUPS = LOVE! Bliiiiiiiiiiing :-D
- The Scramble lock
was by far my favorite lock (I regularly scored in the 150s, with 166 being my best). It'd be sweet if they brought back the Scramble mini game to play for credits.
- My favorite discussion board was The Trading Guild. The only way it could be better is if you could get notifications from it inside of Facebook. Anyone want to write an app...?! Edit: it's kind of died down. I'm mourning its near-death, but looking forward to the new DB the devs are working on. -23:09, 4 January 2009 (EST)
- The Daily Squeaker freaking ROCKS. I seriously don't know how I lived so long without it lol.
- Pretty much ditto that with the Market Tracker, its Twitter, and Packrat Tools/Info!
- Olivia (User:Oshavano) keeps things pretty funny! The mere existance of the last section of her User page = case-in-point.
[edit] Feats of Wonder (141/151)
Collection Feats (109/114)
- Only missing SK (have faux feated), TI (have faux feated) and new collections.
Task Feats (32/37)
- Only missing 5 and 10 million point feats, 2 Year Anniversary (coming August 2010), and levels 100 and 150 feats.

[edit] 33 Foils and 214 Bling in my Vault
- Check out the foils and especially the bling in my vault!
- I'm pretty much addicted to bling. Perfect vaulting limits what I can bling to a huge extent, but I still enjoy the challenge of finding appropriate or inappropriate blings for new collections.
- Since perfect vaulting also handicaps the amount of points I can earn and leveling up I can do, I like to bling the top 5 cards of each collection. I've also done all of
Magical Mystery Tour
in Rainbow bling, all of
Peace and Music
in both Rainbow and Peace Sign bling, all of
Be Mine
in Hearts bling, and all of
Pee Wee Pigskin
in Field Bling.

[edit] I Got Brave!!
(This section used to be titled "If I Ever Get Brave." Because of my compulsion to feat a collection as soon as possible after vaulting the first cards from it, I was scared to try a retired collection, for fear I'd have trouble feating. So that's why it's now titled "I Got Brave!!".)
Note: I'm now hunting only ONE retired card! -- See here which 1 card I'm still missing!
- Neither
ST or
7IS had been made available in the tix markets at the time I collected them.
AA and
SXSW were the collections that had been retired the longest when I attempted them. They were by far the easiest to feat though, since every single card was available in the tix markets (or could be made by cards completely available in the tix markets). This resulted in quite a sense of emptiness to the feats, especially SXSW.
